Bionicon
Bionicon USA has been a sponsor of the Keyesville Classic for the past three years. Owner Paul Ferguson and his wife Wendy have a long history with the Kern River Valley, and have long known of the area's great recreational opportunities. There is an incredible array of trails to ride, whitewater rafting, water sports, rock climbing, fly fishing, and lots of backcountry to explore. It's a perfect area to give a demo bike a true test.
In September 2009, after spending several months renovating a new building in Wofford Heights, Bionicon USA held a grand opening for it's new demo center and showroom here in the Kern River Valley. Things were looking up and the company was making all the right moves. Then one week later a faulty air compressor caught fire and the new facility was destroyed, along with the entire inventory of bikes.
The Kern Valley community came out in force and showed their support. Bionicon opened their new demo center and showroom in Kernville in December, just a few doors down from Keyesville Classic sponsor, the Kern River Brewing Company.
Bionicon USA is committed to putting the Kern River Valley on the mountain biking map. Funds raised through the Keyesville Classic will be put towards trail stewardship in the valley. Already, Bionicon has worked with the BLM to explore new trail opportunities. Kernville Chamber of Commerce has recently approved a Bike Park, and the town has broken ground on the new park, adjacent to the Rodeo Grounds. Positive changes are well underway in the Kern River Valley.

Ride KRV is expected to open as a full-service bike shop in conjunction with Bionicon USA in the spring. This is something that has been lacking in the Kern River Valley. With a full-service bike shop, a guide service and shuttle service, and hundreds of miles of trails, expect to see the Kern Valley grow as a mountain biking destination.
Bionicon USA is now open for test rides, sales and service. The office is right in Kernville at 21 Sierra Drive. Bionicon Bicycles will have test bikes available all weekend.
